Well, it can be used for video production because this drone can carry a canon 5Dmk2 which will give you very high quality (or a higher range handy cam). There are a few "buts" though:
- Forget sound recording, this thing makes noise!
- Mini-vibration of the helicopter will couse waving in the video. We are still in the early testing phase and I thing we will need to figure how to dampen that.

For now, take a look on the Internet (YouTube), there are many videos out there, one better than the other. Also, see if you can find someone close to your place that has a drone capable of carrying a 5D and look at the videos they made to see if they do well.

This software could indeed be used to dampen vibrations somewhat more though best is to have mechanically dampening.
By waving (you must see it to fully understand it) I talk about mini vibrations that vibrate the camera sensor with the result of some sort of waving or tearing. It looks a bit like looking around fast with Vsync off on your computer.

We use Canon 5D and Sony Ex1/Ex3 in our productions. Sure, recording sound with a drone is pointless. I found great videos on the net, done with helicam which are all equipped with gyroscopic stabilization and all movies looks clear, without any impact of vibration.
The cheapest helicam i've found in Poland costs 3.700 euros.

I didn't mean recording sound with the drone itself, but other sound recording on the ground!
